Arowana Care Book

Managed to find an English arowana book on the last day of Aquarama 2007…

Hi all,
Hope all's well. Before I start, I want to share with you my favourite AROWANA of the Aquarama 2007 exhibition.

Platinum Silver Arowana This is truly a beauty… This is a South American Silver Arowana and is a rare Platinum silver… Man! wish I had one! Yes yes I know it's not an asian arowana but what can I say.. I really luv this one… They told me that there are only FIVE of these in the world and this one's in Singapore! Cool!

Had an interesting day today.. at about 2pm, (I happen to chance upon it actually) one booth under the Raffles Arowana Farm did something I believe has never been done before. They had a male brooder that was actually carrying arowana fry in it's mouth and they harvested it in front of us. Awesome! Tried to take some photos but could not get good shots because everyone was pushing and shoving from behind when the harvesting was being done! Real mad house!

Anyway back to what I wanted to share with you actually… I happen to chance upon this arowana book when I was walking around on the last day… (good time to look for bargains on the last day.. :-) ) And guess what it's in ENGLISH!! I found out that it was release in 2005 about the same time as the 'Awakening of the Dragon'. Not sure how I bloody missed it! This was done by the Taiwanese and has a wide variety of topics in it. I went through it for about an hour and found it quite good actually.

Of all the 3 English versions released since 2005 (Awakening of the Dragon, Asian Arowana and Indodragon), in terms of command of english, I think this one is the better of the 3! Pictures are excellent as always. I think the Taiwanese are the best arowana photographers out there. (well that's my opinion anyway. :-))

Asian Arowana Cover Book is simply called 'Asian Arowana'. Very original. :-)

One other interesting area that they go into quite a bit are the suitable arowana tank mates which I have not seen many books talk about. If I did not count wrong, they gave about 25+ suitable tankmates that you could choose from..

Anyway I have attached the Table of Content below for you to have a look at..

table of content - 1 Table of Content Part 1

Table of Content - 2 Table of Content Part 2

I have bought a couple of copies at the show and if anyone wants a copy, just drop me an email at steven@arowana-care.com . It will cost $70 excluding shipping cost.

Cheers!
Steven
