Thought I'd share something different with you today! No arowanas in this post but…
Hi all,
Before I start I would like to wish all my Chinese readers a Happy Chinese New Year. May the year of the Rat bring you wealth, health and prosperity in 2008!
I am actually back in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to celebrate the new year with my family. It's good to be back with your loved ones during the holidays!
It's also pretty quiet here during Chinese New Year because everyone's gone back home for the festive season. Good time to go shopping though.. Less crowd and all!
Anyway, I have uploaded another video for your viewing pleasure. Ok this is not about Arowanas BUT Goldfish! I actually took some photos of them during a goldfish competition held recently in Singapore. (24-27 Jan08 to be exact.) They are really beautiful.. so I thought I'd share them with you.
So without further ado… here they are!
Steven
PS. As usual, do let me know what you think! Cheers!

Hi Steve,
Happy CNY! Nice Goldfish, thanks for your update & keep it on…
thou' i am pressed for time, i have been following your letters which have helped me immensely on successfully rearing pearl arowanas from 3 inches size to now 14 inches in just one year. Now i feel i am ready to try red arowanas. But i would like to grow them in a pool rather than a tank. so where do i look for information on how to set up a pool in my courtyard? Please help.
Thank You in advance.
These are some of the lovliest goldfish specimens I've seen & in such healthy condition too! Maybe I'd want to go back to keeping some in the near future. Are goldfish hardy enough to be kept in a garden pond/pool? would like to know as when i move to my "new" house very soon i may want to build some sort of garden pond/pool. TQ for your valued advice.
Hi Steve,
Happy Chinese New Year!!!!!thanks for every update you've been sending me, I'm so happy for every word about arowana….and please keep-up every wonderful thing you do>>>>>>it helps me a lot.
Sebastian,
If you want to do a proper pond, then my advise is to get someone who specialises in building ponds as you would want to build it right from the start. I do know some individuals who tried to built them themselves and eventually have to get the professionals anyway.. (especially if it is a big pond!) If the filtration system you build is not enough to sustain your pond, you are going to get a lot of problems with water quality.
Steven
Anthony,
Yes no issues with keeping goldfish in ponds. Just make sure you have a good filtration system as they are very 'dirty'. What I mean is they only eat, swim, and 'let go' and they dunno when to stop eating!
Steven
The gold fish are adorable and beautiful thanks for the update and have a blissful new year and hope to hear from you soon take care and may peace be with you and all your viewers
