- Do not medicate your healthy arowana!
I am quite concern sometimes when I come across medication at aquarium shops which supposedly helps prevent diseases. I want to advise against using these so called 'preventive' medication for your arowanas. I have already seen several of them in the market and to a new arowana hobbyist, this must really seem like a saviour and answer to your prayers! A one size fits all medication that will prevent anything!
WRONG! Please don't use them unnecessarily. Let me give a very simple analogy here. Would you give antibiotics to anyone who is not sick? No right? (…)

- 3 strikes and I'm out! I flooded my arowana tank area again!
I never learn from mistakes… Sigh! I decided to do some tank cleaning yesterday as there were some algae growth on the walls. So I did the usual… filter change, tank wall scrubbing, getting rid of waste from the substrate below and of course water change. As I was topping up the water in the tank, I decided to go into my study room to check out my email box. Big mistake! I thought I timed it just right! Man! (…)
